Registration is a must on the website.

Volunteering in the garden is a fun learning experience. It is often physical work, but it is interesting and rewarding. One bonus to visiting the garden is that they give away beautiful organic compost. If you are interested, bring your own buckets or bags to fill with compost.   Here is some essential information:

  • The Fertile GroundWorks Garden of Grace is located at the end of the parking lot behind Asbury Methodist Church at 4743 East Ave, Livermore, CA 94550.
  • They provide the garden equipment needed for volunteers.
  • All volunteers must wear closed-toed shoes
  • Volunteers must sign a waiver to work in the garden.
  • Student volunteers need a parent to sign a waiver when their parent drops them off
  • They have used garden gloves that are washed after each use, but we recommend bringing your own garden gloves
  • Bring drinking water.
  • A hat and appropriate layered clothing to accommodate hot or cold weather.
